This privacy policy describes how the apps KeepRec and KeepRec Remote ("the apps", "we", "our") handle information when you use them. The apps are published by Crivid AS, organisation number 937 567 308, registered in Norway. Crivid AS is the data controller.
This policy covers the Android versions on Google Play. The iPhone versions are not released yet. We will update this page before they are.
Recordings are saved as video files on your phone, in the KeepRec folder in your gallery or in a folder you choose yourself. Highlight videos you make are saved the same way. Team names, colours, logos, player lists, athlete lists and times, your graphics and your settings are stored inside the app on your phone. None of this is sent to us.
When you share a video, the app hands it to the app you pick on your phone. What happens after that is between you and that app.
When you go live, the video and sound are sent directly from your phone to the streaming service you have chosen, such as YouTube, Facebook, Twitch, Kick or your own server. The stream does not pass through us. The stream address and stream key you enter are stored on your phone so you do not have to type them again, and they are sent only to that service. The streaming service's own privacy policy applies to what you stream to it.
When KeepRec crashes, a report is sent to Firebase Crashlytics, a Google service. It contains where in the code the crash happened, the device model, the Android version, the app version and an installation ID that Firebase creates. It does not contain your name, your email address, your videos, your team names or your scores. Crash reports are sent whether or not usage statistics are on. Google keeps crash reports for 90 days.
KeepRec uses Google Analytics for Firebase to count how the app is used, for example when the app is opened for the first time, when a session starts and when the app is updated. Each event carries the device model, the Android version, the app version, an app installation ID created by Firebase, and the country, which Google works out from the IP address. The statistics do not contain your name, your email address, your videos, your team names or your scores. The advertising ID is not collected.
Usage statistics are on when you install the app. You can turn them off at any time in the app settings under "Share usage statistics". Crash reports are not affected by this switch. Google keeps this data for no longer than 14 months.
KeepRec Pro is a subscription bought through Google Play. We never see your card or payment details. To know whether your subscription is active, the app uses RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives an anonymous user ID created by the app, the product you bought, the purchase and expiry dates, your country and basic device information such as the operating system version. We do not ask for your name or email address, and there is no user account.
You manage and cancel the subscription in Google Play.
When you scan a QR code to connect a remote, the code is read on your phone by Google's ML Kit barcode scanner. The camera image is not stored and is not sent to us. Google may receive technical information about how the scanner performs.
The camera phone and the remote talk to each other directly over Bluetooth. The score, the clock, team names, player lists, graphics text and commands such as start and stop are sent between the two phones and never to us. The camera phone also sends its device name to the remote, so you can see which camera you are connected to.
KeepRec asks for these permissions, each for one purpose:
We do not ask for your contacts, phone state, SMS or advertising ID.
KeepRec Remote sends no crash reports, no usage statistics and no data to us. It has no purchases and no account. It uses the camera only to scan the QR code, with the same Google ML Kit scanner described above, and Bluetooth to talk to the camera phone. It asks for Location only on Android 11 and older, for the Bluetooth search, and never reads it. It can use Do Not Disturb access, if you allow it, to keep the phone quiet while the remote is open.
Crash reports and usage statistics: our legitimate interest in finding errors and improving the app (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). Usage statistics can be switched off in the app. Subscription status through RevenueCat: necessary to deliver the subscription you have bought (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
The apps are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data that could identify a child.
If you are in the EEA, you have the right to request a copy of the data we hold about you, to request deletion, to object to processing, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in Norway: Datatilsynet). Because there is no account, we hold no name or email address for you. Write to us and we will help you find and delete the data that belongs to your installation.
When the apps change what they collect, we update this page and the date at the top.
